About Relationship Works

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new” – Socrates

I’m Yuwei Wu – and I have a question to ask …

Are you ready to embrace change to live a more meaningful and connected life? If the answer is yes, then you’re in the right place.

As an LMFT & EFT Therapist in Washington State, one purpose I have is to establish and uphold a secure, trusted environment for those prepared to embrace change and work toward fostering meaningful growth and empowerment.

As your therapist, we will work together to improve your understanding, acceptance, and mastery of the challenging relationships, emotions, or difficult situations that interfere with you building or living your dream life.

Yuwei Wu, LMFT, EMDR & EFT Therapist

I will work with you in creating a safe therapeutic space to explore, understand, accept, make changes, and move forward – paving the way for new possibilities in life. My counseling style is genuine, caring, and compassionate – yet, direct with validation. I can be creative and playful or firm and consistent, depending on the needs of each situation and individual. I rely on gentle guidance, warmth, and flexibility to create genuine exchanges. I view each of us as more than our mental health concerns – we are vessels of possibilities with endless opportunities ahead.

I use a beginner’s mind to meet you where you are and never make assumptions. It is not my role to tell you how to live; however, it is my role to listen, discuss, and provide resources, psychoeducation, and tools as needed to help improve your relationships on every level – with yourself, with your emotions, with others, and with your surroundings. I can help you learn to set healthy boundaries, develop emotional regulation skills, and build desirable behaviors and habits.

I bring authenticity, integrity, transparency, and collaboration to each session while holding us both accountable throughout the journey of recovery and change.

More about Yuwei

I identify as a person of color, and I am an ally for people or groups “deviating from the social norms” that intrinsically exist in today’s society. My cross-cultural experiences have helped me foster a bi-cultural identity, cultivate critical thinking abilities, and develop unique perspectives and effective strategies for addressing clinical issues for all people. I also offer therapy in English and Chinese (Mandarin).

I believe in equity and social justice in mental health. This has drawn me to be an agent of change to promote systemic transformation with compassion and integrity. I have witnessed the unbearable cost of oppressing emotional needs for the sake of socially accepted achievements and fitting the constructs of social norms.

As a therapist, I support people in creating a relational balance and harmony with self, others, and surrounding elements to reach the ultimate liberation of self – to be at peace with who you are and enjoy life.
