Emotionally Focused Therapy

A secure bond is characterized not by the absence of problems, but by the way partners respond to those problems.

What is EFT?

Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) helps people identify, experience, and manage their emotions more flexibly by focusing on how interpersonal interactions get organized into emotional patterns and cycles.

One of EFT’s underlying principles is that emotions are fundamental to individual development, in that we use emotions to make sense of our environment, establish our goals, and identify our needs and values. Therefore, EFT can help individuals learn to understand, accept, and express emotions in ways that support making decisions to improve mental health, strengthen relationships, and enhance overall quality of life.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based therapy approach that helps individuals and couples achieve meaningful change by highlighting the crucial role emotions play in shaping our perceptions and guiding our decisions.

Relationships are built not just on the joy of discovering each other, but also on the joy of reconnection after disconnection.

Unlock Better Connections: EFT for healthier interactions.

As an EFT therapist, I collaborate with individuals, couples, and families to navigate and refine their emotional processes and foster acceptance. My role is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the underlying emotional patterns that influence behavior, enabling us to transform these patterns to enhance personal and relational well-being.

Centered in the here and now, EFT focuses on pinpointing problems and identifying actionable changes in the present to promote more fulfilling interactions. Originally developed for couples therapy, this approach has since been expanded to include family and individual therapy. EFT’s guiding principles help explore and improve critical interpersonal relationships and patterns across these different settings.

Whether using EFT or other therapeutic approaches, I’m dedicated to guiding clients towards enhancing their emotional well-being and nurturing change that leads to living with meaning and connection.
